Biometric Information Notice

Version 1.0. Effective 29 August 2026. Operated by Innovations App Lab LLC.

The short version

FleetHook does not collect, capture, store or sell your biometric information. Where the app uses Face ID, Touch ID or an Android biometric to unlock, that check happens entirely on your device — FleetHook never receives your fingerprint or face. This notice explains that in full and states our position under Texas's biometric law.

Device unlock uses your phone, not FleetHook

To protect the data behind a login, the FleetHook mobile apps can lock after a period of inactivity and ask you to confirm it's you with the same fingerprint, face or passcode you use to unlock the phone itself. That confirmation is performed by the device's operating system — Apple's Face ID / Touch ID or the Android biometric system — inside secure hardware. The app only receives a yes-or-no answer: it is told the device confirmed you, and nothing more. FleetHook never receives, sees, or stores any fingerprint, face geometry, or other biometric identifier, and none is ever transmitted to our servers or to anyone else.

The scanners read documents, not people

FleetHook includes scanners for a driver licence, a licence plate and a vehicle identification number. These read printed and barcoded text — the letters and numbers on a document or plate — using the camera and on-device text recognition. They do not measure or record facial geometry, and they are not facial-recognition features. The information captured from a driver licence is the printed data used to fill in a tow form, handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our position under Texas law

Texas's Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier statute (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code ch. 503, "CUBI," as amended effective 1 January 2026) restricts capturing a "biometric identifier" — such as a fingerprint, voiceprint, or scan of hand or face geometry — for a commercial purpose without first informing the person and obtaining consent. Because FleetHook does not capture any biometric identifier (device unlock stays on the device, and the scanners read text), we do not capture biometric identifiers for a commercial purpose, and no biometric consent is required for the features FleetHook offers today.

If this ever changes

If FleetHook introduces a feature that captures a biometric identifier — for example, a feature that matches a face to a photograph — we will update this notice and, before capture, provide the notice and obtain the consent required by applicable law.
